I received E-ticket and E-Visa from Emirates already! My flight will fly from Barcelona to Nice, France with Iberia Airlines. And connecting to Emirates flight to Dubai. I will be leaving on Tuesday 8 June 2010, departure from Barcelona at 12.45 and will arrive in Dubai at 00.30!!! Mid-night?!? hmmm…… I wonder what is gonna happen, when I arrive to my new apartment about 2am, and I don't know anything whatsoever. Anyway, I read the ticket carefully, I found one thing is bothering me; On the flight of Iberia Airline to Nice, France My baggage allowance is only 20kgs. Hence, I sent the msg straight away to ask Emirates about this inquiry. After I managed about this mission done, I went out to Park Central (shopping mall in Tarragona) to do some necessary shopping and I grab something to cook for tonight, special of course!! I cooked Steamed celery mussels and Dorada a la sal with extra Romesco(Catalan sauce that they actually use to eat with grilled spring onion)… yum yum. Before go to bed, Me and rail were talking about what should I do about my departure, Tuesday. And Raul came up with the idea that we should go to Barcelona on Monday 7Jun, evening and stay over in the hotel close to Airport. And in the morning of Tuesday 8 June, He will drive back to Tarragona to work, and I will stay till check-in counter opens, 10h00. Sounds good to me!!Thu 3 Jun 2010
I haven't hear anything from Emirates yet. Today I went out for more some shopping during the day. When i returned home for lunch, there was no still answer. I called Iberia airlines to ask that I will fly with Emirates after Iberia with 50kgs baggage allowance. But the call center staff said…." I will be allowed only 20 kgs and excess baggage will be 60Euros for till 32kgs which the maximum weight!! So it doesn't matter if you have 50kgs on the later flight!!!….. I was so nervous and
paranoid what I heard from Iberia. So I contacted Emirates, but It was too late because the office already closed! And Friday and Saturday is day off…. Damn~!! what should i do about my baggage!! Why didn't I call Emirates before!?? Agrhhh! So I sent Emirates a letter to Human resource to claim that the contract of the company says joining trip crew is entitled to carry the baggage of 50kgs. And It seems I have problem about baggage weight allowance with Iberia..…………. Well anyway, for now I will continue packing my bag as 50kgs anyway!!Later in the afternoon, I checked my inbox of my personal email. I looked at the email that Fedex sent to me on Tuesday 1June that Emirates has sent a package to my address. ~~~AY ay ay ya ay!!!!!!! How stupid I am!! The email actually has a detail that Emirates sent me a coupon of excess baggage! Ay ay ay ayyy~~ I didn't read the detail carefully at all. They sent me this coupon even before I would receive the flight details so perhaps I took this important information for granted. But now everything is matched. I just need to wait for that letter to arrive by tomorrow. After this relief, I went to complete my mission "to finish pack the bag", supposing that I would travel tomorrow. So I will have everything ready in my suitcases and then I estimate the weight. And It was exact 50kgs (included my Wii already) Well done!!
Friday 4 Jun 2010 (today)
I was quite nervous to receive a letter from Emirates. Like the feeling " I wanna know what is the excess baggage likes". And eventually It was delivered to my house in the afternoon after lunch. The excess baggage coupon says only 20kgs. Well,. . …. . … . .. . I think Emirates know what they are doing, or arranging. So I should let it be, and let's see. Shouldn't be panic or paranoid before hand like past 2 days. But well…anyway… anyhow…… I think I will call them on Sunday or Monday to ask about it anyway, I just cannot help it. I don't like the feeling, being not sure. Recently, I have chatted with my new Thai friends who are coming to join Emirates the same day as me, but they will fly from Bangkok,Thailand. 2 of them will stay at Sheikh Zayed road….. How lucky the are!! I am so jealous. I will be staying at Deira area, the building's called "Al Owais". I tried to make a research more it is not easy because they didn't tell me the address only the name of the building. This information is not enough to make a research. However, I found one website with photo, says about this name of the building, height only 22floors, not too tall. However, I am not sure if it is the one or not that I will go to live but well, I post photos here, and let's see in the Very Near future if it is the one or not!!
Tonight me and Raul are going for special dinner!! Will come to update another time….
Also tomorrow in the morning I will go to Fresh market where I always go on Saturday morning for the last time….. And will have my last Saturday breakfast. Afterward, come back home, cleaning house, buying some stuff for tonight "GOOD BYE PARTY……" And Sunday, I will go to meet "The Linaje" to say good bye for the last time….. and Monday, gonna get everything DONE!!
I wrote this now, because since tomorrow I am not sure when will i come to update this again….. could be in Dubai? We'll see!!
